Notifications problem
Feb13
I’m having issues with the notifications since i upgraded the hosting; i don’t receive emails when someone writes a comments in my website. I’ll try to work with support to solve the issue, but worse case scenario i won’t know when someone writes in an older post. Let me know if you’re having problems getting notifications of publications or comments.
Edit: Well, scrap that, apparently my site isn’t working at all. I see it correctly but people are telling me they can’t see anything. I’ll have to spend the day solving this.
I’ll use these post to test stuff. I’ve managed to turn the site on but at the expense of deactivating an important pluging so now things like comments and subscriptions are changed, i’ll have to look for fixes.
I’ve manage to turn the plugin back again safely so interface should look the same as before now. I’ve also turned my site from http to https, whatever that means, but supposedly safer.
I still got to fix why the fuck i don’t get notifications.
Https is encrypted http, with a third-party certificate.
And this explains why all my RSS marks are suddenly forgotten, lol.
I don’t even know what a rss mark is, but with all of the times i’ve been asked to “delete cache” and stuff like that i’m guessing people probably have been fucked in whatever way they checked this site.
Hehe, I get RSS notifications marked new in Firefox live bookmarks, and then I click them to mark them read. I just noticed all my read marks were gone, because of a url change. Nothing complicated, lol.
Seems to be working fine for me. I did need to so a “Shift-reload” though.
what’s a shift reload?
Reload directly from the web, refreshing the cache. Basically a real reload, done with Ctrl-Shift-R.
Or holding shift while clicking the reload icon next to the URL bar.
