This year’s time for the contest is over. There hasn’t been a lot of entries but i guess that’s mostly my fault as i keep forgetting to do the contest so nobody knows at which date it’ll be XD

In any case, these are the participants:

Kweva by Helen Pink

Vampiresa by JGP

¡Vamos a ello!

Knoblin by Remco

Knoblin

Story: Knoblins are flightless birds that live in Robukan jungles. They attach themselves to trees with their sharp claws and, like flying squirrels, glide through the sky to the next tree in order to avoid predators. While being herbivores they do attack humans but not for food but for gold. Knoblins are obsessed with shiny things, even making their nest out of them, and will steal them from humans by knocking them out. They do this by going high up in a tree and flying down with great speed. Then taking the shape of a bullet and hitting the unsuspecting human in the head with their hard skull cap. There has never been a case of a Knoblin killing a human but they do wake up with all their gold and jewelry missing. Hunters often seek out Knoblin nests to steal their collected gold. They usually do this while wearing helmets to avoid getting their own gold stolen.

Appearance: Knoblins have the appearance of a flying squirrel but they’re filled with colourful feathers. They have eagle like arms and legs and their head is made of black feathers with a red beak.

Karlijn by Remco

Karlijn

Story: Karlijn is a bat-like incomplete that lives in Potoka as a store clerk that sells rare items that only come in the night. Karlijn is blind but sees through echolocation by using ultrasonic sounds. She clicks her tongue loudly and thus knows everything happening around her. She does sometimes scare people with the loud noise. Karlijn is not a fighter but is capable of flying. Often using it to run away from trouble. She often goes out in the night to steal items that only come out during nighttime. Like mushrooms or herbs but also certain rare animals people want as pets or for food. Karlijn only goes out during the night herself and usually stays in her store during day time. She says the sun hurts her skin though it’s probably more bc of her anti-social nature.

Personality: Karlijn is a very anti-social woman. Often wanting to be left alone and not being too nice towards costumers in the process, though still getting a large amount because what she sells is hard to get. Despite this she is not a thief. Preferring her fair business. She enjoys her comfy life in her store and being as little troubled by others as possible.

Appearance: Karlijn has large bat wings as arms that attach to her sides. Her feet are long and bend and walks on her toes all the time. She only wears a blood patterned overall bc she is not capable of putting on any other clothes. Including underwear. Another reason for her to only go out during the dark.

Cockatrice by Valentino Conti

Name: Cockatrice

Species: Incomplete

Gender: Female

Height: 1,78 m

Weight: 41 kg

Cockatrice is an incomplete hauling from a poor village in Robukan. She had a rough past, in part for her poverty and in part for being shunned as a dangerous incomplete, and she resorted to becoming a bandit to make ends meet. She is quite selfish but also incredibly cowardly (she literally chickens out easily) and prefer to prey on the weak rather than fight the strong.

Symbiosis: Cockatrice has rare form of earth symbiosis that manifests through her breath, which allows her to petrify anything hit by her breath. The petrification usually just creates a stone shell over the target, but after it is completely encased it slowly turns it into stone.

Slugdrake by Valentino Conti

Slugdrake

Description: Slugdrakes are colossal, slimy creatures that resemble an hybrid between a slug and a drake (wingless dragon), with horns, six stubby limbs, two long, prehensile whiskers and a hard beak filled with sharp teeth. They are permanently covered by a thick layer of sticky mucus, which they can produce in nigh infinite quantities and can even shoot with deadly accuracy to immobilize their prey. They also leave great trails of said mucus that can trap any creature that tread over it.

Behaviour: Slugdrakes are highly territorial creatures that live in wet climates, such as swamps, jungles and so on (though they do avoid saltwater at all costs). Their mucus tend to smother and slowly kill a lot of vegetation, resulting in their territories being full of rotting plants and trees. Great patches of mucus also serve as traps for the Slugdrake to catch their prey.

Tips for Hunters: Slugdrakes are extremely dangerous, and should not be confronted without the necessary preparations. For starters, attacking them in melee is very dangerous and rather ineffective, since they can regenerate from most physical damage very quickly and anything that hits them is almost immediately caught in their sticky mucus. The mucus itself is extremely fire-resistant, so using fire to counter their regeneration is almost useless. Moreover, while Slugdrakes are quite slow, they can actually shoot their mucus at high speed to catch their prey, and anything hit by the mucus (or walking over mucus trails) is almost surely immobilized. However, Slugdrakes do have a glaring weakness: salt. Salt not only dries up their mucus immediately, but it also burns Slugdrakes and stop them from regenerating. For this reason, any hunter that is going to go after Slugdrakes should pack up a lot of salt.
